PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk. (MTDL), a leading Information and Communication Technology (ICT) company, has recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietnam-based digital transformation firm FPT Information System (FPT IS).
The memorandum aims to explore synergies in developing world-class Digital Transformation solutions, supported by Cloud, Data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, to seize the growing digital opportunities in Indonesia.
Both technology companies will collaborate to prepare the country not only to utilize technology as consumers but also to go beyond the conventional role as technology users, developing capacities in creativity and innovation.
The MoU outlines that the focus of collaboration will be on the development and implementation of cutting-edge digital transformation solutions based on technologies such as Cloud Computing, Data, and Artificial Intelligence.
President Director of MTDL, Susanto Djaja, stated that MTDL and FPT IS will jointly promote AI-based applications to enhance productivity and accelerate progress towards achieving Indonesia's 'Vision 2045'. He emphasized that this is in line with the commitment to drive technology as an engine for growth and a beacon for sustainable digital economic development in Indonesia.
"We can clearly see that Indonesia's digital economy offers many opportunities and prospects, with projections reaching USD 1.5 trillion, contributing 14% of GDP. Especially, Cloud infrastructure and opportunities related to Artificial Intelligence are expected to double every five years," said Susanto in his official statement on Tuesday (2/16/2024).
This collaboration has the potential to involve various critical areas, including the development of markets for digital transformation applications and solutions tailored to the Indonesian region, aimed at green transformation and digital acceleration. Furthermore, education initiatives will focus on the development of professional talents, particularly in the fields of data science, machine learning, and Artificial Intelligence programming.
Moreover, the establishment of robust Artificial Intelligence infrastructure platforms will encompass Cloud and GPU technologies. Additionally, innovative Machine Learning models and Artificial Intelligence applications will be developed as part of this collaboration.
